Dirty Projectors - Hi Custodian (Short Film)

Inspired by music films like Kanye West’s Runaway and Prince’s Purple Rain, Dirty Projectors unveil “Hi Custodian,” a short film written and directed by David Longstreth. The director describes Hi Custodian as being “made out of a dream.”

“It was so fun getting into these alternate personas, inhabiting them, and I think we came up with some amazing images.”

Starring Longstreth as well as band members Amber Coffman, Haley Dekle, Nat Baldwin and Mike Johnson, the clip follows the group through a surreal narrative about spiritual death and rebirth. The piece boasts several recordings and alternate versions of new Dirty Projectors songs, as well as other new and unreleased music from the Swing Lo Magellan album sessions. Produced by Pitchfork.tv.
