J. Press takes a unique step forward with its Spring/Summer 2013 offering by appointing brothers Shimon and Ariel Ovadia as Creative Directors of the label’s most recent offshoot, formally titled J. Press York Street. Coming off the critical success and popularity of their eponymous collection Ovadia & Sons, the duo took on the task of reinvigorating the classic American brand with a youthful sensibility. Where the designs excel is how they do such while still maintaining the core principles that established J. Press, such as collegiate colorways, nautical-inspired garments and social club sundries. Highlights amongst the collection include a floral polo featured in dusty neutrals to a bright orange rain coat, which when styled with classic suiting evokes exactly the tone J. Press hopes to set with Ariel and Shimon at the helm. The visuals were photographed by Rose Callahan at the Yale Club for Paul+Williams.
