Despite its dark and distinct aesthetic, Spitalfield’s AllSaints has always drawn from a wide spectrum of British cultural references. For Fall/Winter 2012, the label delves further into a world of creative influences, this time enlisting the aid of actual creatives — up-and-coming actors, artisans, poetry writers and models alongside longtime brand collaborators. Included among them are entertainer and model Tony Ward, Dazed and Confused writer/editor Stuart Hammond and violinist Marques Toliver, part of a host of both male and female artists that feature in this new British campaign video. Under the direction of new Chief Creative Officer, Wil Beedle, the Fall/Winter 2012 offerings reflect this new well of inventiveness with a collection of iconic silhouettes and innovative fabrics. Not that AllSaints has veered far from its signature aesthetic; the label’s signature color palette of blacks and greys and trim cuts remain. However, an increased emphasis on tailoring and premium materials results in a collection as versatile yet tightly knit as its cast of creative characters. Exhibiting a well-executed assortment of outerwear, woven shirts, tees and cigarette jeans, the Fall/Winter 2012 collection is constructed in an impressive array of premium British and Japanese materials — a distinct mix of quality, innovation and beauty that bodes well for the brand’s evolution. The AllSaints 2012 fall/winter collection is available now at their website.
