Vans has always managed to bring a strong sense of relevance to its core brand throughout the various tiers and brand extensions. Prior to today’s official unveiling, Vans had been steadily creating a buzz surrounding its latest Vans LXVI extension line. After debuting the moniker via a short teaser video, the label had been flowing special edition boxes to select taste makers and media for the official rollout of the collection. Shifting its gears towards a more lifestyle-centered product range, today brings the first iteration to the Vans LXVI via the 2012 spring/summer Graph Collection.
Seemingly a fusion between more technical running footwear and the core DNA of the Vans brand, the Graph is being touted as the “lightest Vans shoe ever.” Fusing the iconic Waffle sole, a unique WaffleFlex low profile outsole keeps the slimmed-down aesthetic while maintaining a level of comfortability and flexibility to the silhouette. The upper is treated in a new LuxLiner that keeps the Graph breathable and flexible. Adding to the weightlessness of the shoe, Vans’s new RapidWeld provides a stitch-less construction effectively slimming the pair even further. Availability is now offered here.
