Yatzer: From Dainius Bendikas to Infinity

Dainius Bendikas is a fast-rising, 25-year-old designer based in Reykjavík with a defined vision for contemporary menswear. Bendikas’s newest collection “Infinite We Are – The Moon Monk Project” for Fall/Winter 2012 is a surreal trip through the mind of a wandering space traveler. A multidimensional infinity – his mind is wide open, perfectly calm, yet simultaneously levitating. In an author-like manner, Bendikas conceptualizes the story and gradually becomes obsessed with the characters until his creations become much more than figments of his imagination. Each look of the collection is connected via a color-range based on the changing surface of the moon during the lunar eclipse that occurred June 26, 2010. Along with the oddly-brilliant designs, Bendikas has left the viewer with an accompanying soundtrack which creates an added sense of mystery.
