A Kind of Guise 2012 Fall/Winter Accessories

Menswear label A Kind of Guise began as a student project in 2009, creating products for friends and relatives and culminating in a first collection of bags made of leather leftovers. The brand has since expanded into a full range of both clothing and accessories, pieces that draw from its German surroundings and are all crafted by local manufacturers using locally-sourced materials. For Fall/Winter 2012, A Kind of Guise’s “A Carpathian Season” collection was inspired by a friend of the label who left everything behind to lead “a lonely life somewhere in the outback of south-east Europe,” an experience that led to raising ostriches near the Serbian border. Drawing from the culture and people of that region, the Munich-based brand’s offerings for the season encompass rustic-influenced, hardy pieces in wool, leather and angora.
