Chinese Artist Ai Weiwei Released on Bail

The arrest of Chinese artist Ai Weiwei has been a contentious issue in the world of international politics since he was taken into custody back in the spring of this year. Arguably China’s greatest art export, the artist’s release on bail was based on his good behavior, confessions to wrongdoings and chronic illness. Originally his release was said to be due to tax evasion, however underlying reports stipulate the artist was taken in for his strong commentary of the Chinese government.
