Drake and Lil Wayne call off joint album

Virtually in the same breath as mentioning a forthcoming joint mixtape with Rick Ross, Drake also recently revealed to XXL that the previously rumored album with Lil Wayne is now a no go.

“Me and Wayne scrapped the idea of a collaboration album. We just agreed that it would be looked upon as…It would be sort of this competition [with Watch The Throne]. I feel like it would get caught in this whirlwind of hype. [Wayne] agreed. We just said, ‘If we do it, we’ll do it down the line. But right now is not the time.’”

So basically, the Toronto native just swapped out Rozay for Wayne — or at least that’s what it looks like. Nonetheless, let the leak of Take Care console your disappointment, as well as look forward to Y.O.L.O.
