German creative faction the Koi Klub and Onitsuka Tiger come together in the release of their third collaborative footwear project. The Koi Koi is a high-top sneaker based on the LAY-UP 72 featuring a two-tone nude-colored upper, a reference to the bare skin of lovers and the heat of intense passion. Each pair features a laser-etched Japanese character signifying “love” and “intense”, which in Japanese both fall under the same pronunciation, of “koi”.
Furthermore, the project brings in a dynamic group of collaborators to further compliment the project including Zillion, Airbag Craftworks and A.D. Deertz. Zillion designed a pair of laces produced from deadstock kimono fabric, a bag came ourtesy of Airbag Craftworks and a finally t-shirt by A.D. Deertz concluded everything nicely.
