Staple x Converse 1HUND(RED) Sea Star Mid
Following up on their Pigeon Sea Star Mid release earlier this year, Staple revisit the style
Following up on their Pigeon Sea Star Mid release earlier this year, Staple revisit the style with a new interpretation, this time created for the Converse 1HUND(RED) project. The kicks will see premier this Thursday October 8th, 2009 at Reed Space, with them holding the exclusive release as well. Further information regarding the initiative can be seen below:
Earlier in the year, we dropped an entirely new style with Converse called the Sea Star Mid and we blessed it with our trademark Pigeon motif. Converse asked used to revisit the style, but this time, for the CONVERSE 1HUND(RED) Campaign. This version helps to save lives in Africa. The Converse 1HUND(RED) initiative is a year-long global project celebrating our partnership and commemorating the brand’s 100th anniversary. They brought together 100 artists from around the globe to celebrate the artistic spirit and help eliminate AIDS in Africa.
In keeping with the (RED) theme, we kept this version simple: Black, White and RED. And yes, if it feels a ‘lil “23″ to you, it ain’t a coincidence. Same features as the earlier Pigeon version are all present and accounted for. Mid cut puffed out collar to give it more comfort, warmth and protection. Outsole features nautical inspired terms in case you’re stuck out in the high seas. And the exterior of the collar is water resistant as well.
