Stones Throw and Mad Villain make a bold move with the release of Madvillainy 2: The Box. The music label which features a wealth of popular talent created this package featuring the following, the CD: Madvillainy “2″ The Madlib Remix (25 tracks), a 7-inch vinly: “One Beer (Drunk Version)” (a Madlib originaly recorded in 2004 which was misplaced until now), a cassette: “The Madvillainy Demo Tape” (a 36 minute, 12 track affair and the first and only legit release of the demo that was leaked over the net), a t-shirt: “Nominated. Best Rolled L’s” and a comic book. Although Madvillainy in itself has been a hallmark for Madvillian, the group’s duo of Madlib and M.F. Doom felt that they were never one to follow the rules of convention and although originally made for a 10-hour plane ride to Tokyo, the final piece was good enough to be made into an all new album. Look for this at select Stones Throw accounts including colette.
