Our weekly top picks featuring our selection of the ten best stories of the week. Check out the run-down of the selections after the jump.

Leica D-Lux 4 Titan

Having been an integral part in the development of photographic equipment, Leica release a sleek version of their latest flagship point & shoot. Although black (original D-Lux 4 color) more often then not works so well, a titanium version of the D-Lux 4 is a more then suitable color choice.

Supreme Box Logo Fleece New Era Fitted cap

It’s amazing how the New Era market has grown considerably to necessitate its own cold weather winter offering. But what better way for Supreme to do it, then apply the brand’s most recognizable icon, the Box Logo?

Visvim 2008 Fall/Winter Serra Collection

While the use of non-discrete colors was often reserved for the G.Line, it seems this more open color palette has crept into Visvim’s main line with increasing frequency. Its this splash of color which offers something the traditional mountaineering brands are less quick to adopt.

Haven x Reigning Champ | Brknhome 2 Year Anniversary

Haven popped up shortly after I left Edmonton. Knowing full well how things were in “Deadmonton”, I was weary of how far along the retailer would come. Lucky to know they proved me wrong, a two year anniversary and a quick scan of their brand list is all that is needed to show they’ve done an incredible job. Their 2 year anniversary is a testament to how quickly they’ve risen with what I am confident in saying will be just a taste of things to come. The whole 2 year collection including the Maiden Noir release offers some nice elements that offer subtle nods to the City of Champions (which I will continue proclaiming despite Edmonton not having won anything for a loooooooooong time).

UNTOLD 2009 Spring/Summer “Marine” Collection

UNTOLD’s 2009 “Marine” Collection had me in awe as I scanned through the pages of their preview. With no glaring weaknesses, I can’t say that there was particularly one “must-have” item but rather a strong overall effort. Exuding a certain Visvim-esque feel (the logo is pretty similar), I won’t go on to say its a Vis-rip but rather a brand that seems to embody some of the philosophies that have made the aforementioned brand successful, however you can only see so much via pictures. Their paneled shirts seem to be one of the brand’s strong points season to season and their outerwear has a nice direction to it. Now only if they made things bigger then Japanese larges.

swagger x The North Face Jacket

The North Face and swagger put out some of TNF’s finest jackets this year. Nothing too crazy going on here, but the fit is certainly on-point as are a range of colors which escapes the usual reliance on black.

Nexus VII x OriginalFake Chino Pants

What more could you ask for in a pair of pants which offer the casual and refined look of khakis with the performance benefits of Gore-tex? Get you through that ride to work and still look presentable as you step into the office.

Motive Smart Chukka

While the Chukka/Desert boot profile offers a great deal of versatility, the one thing that I could never get over was the sole style often used by Clarks and company. Preferring a smooth sole as opposed to what is the norm, Motive creates what I would deem a perfect Chukka for me combining the perfect silhouhette of the Chukka, quality materials and a well formed sole.

Nomadic 2008 Winter Collection

The little known Hong Kong-based Nomadic has done a nice job with their winter season, creating a series of classics under their own Nomadic guidance. In addition their knitwear offers some nice subtle choices and styles.

Ronnie Fieg x Red Wing Classic Work Boot

Stepping outside the usual colorways used by Red Wing Shoes, Ronnie Fieg puts out a slightly different Work Boot that maintains all the usual wearablility you’d associate with Red Wings.
