From what I've heard/read, precious metals are among the most stable things you can invest in.

If you would've invested in gold a few years ago, you'd be caking. It's a stable investment. But it's not like something that you invest in for growth. It CAN grow. But it's not like you're investing in microsoft in the 90's either.

Oh wait you went in on silver. Ok. Not as strong as gold, but still reasonably stable.

Theres no way of telling, who knows what happens in 10 years, but the way its going and what ive been hearing, its going to sky rocket. A friend of mine bought silver all through the fall/winter then it was $26/$27 an ounce and now what is it like $34 USD

You can't even buy an ounce with 1k. I copped 2 ounces of 24kt a few years ago for 400 a ounce. Now they are worth around 1400 a pop in today's market. Prices fluctuate daily.
