Streetsnaps: Pitti Uomo 89 - Part 1
Pitti gets started with a sartorial splash.
While Pitti Uomo is often seen as the stronghold of tailoring in the men’s fashion circuit, and while it remained very much present this 89th occasion, there were all sorts of attempts to disrupt the homogeny of the traditional Italian three-piece suit. Very much in line with the current theme of “Pitti Generations,” looks from off the runway bridged the divide between suits and streetwear, whether it be by way of a Thrasher sweatshirt, unconventional suiting fabrics, or a camo PUMA Trinomic Disc. That’s not to say that Florence had turned its back on its storied history of tailoring — the Italians showed up full force in all manner of wide-brimmed fedoras, pocket squares and double-breasted blazers.
