YouTube Unveils Its $9.99 USD Ad-Free Subscription Service
YouTube Red.

YouTube’s paid subscription service is real. Today the Google-owned video-sharing platform unveiled YouTube Red. Set to launch later this month in the U.S. before going global in the near future, the subscription service will allow users to pay $9.99 USD per month for ad-free viewing across the platform. YouTube Red will basically replace Google Music Key and, going forward, those who subscribe to either Google Play or YouTube Red will get both services.
Coinciding with the release will be a brand new YouTube Music app — dedicated to music-related video streaming — that will also be free with ads or ad-free with a paid subscription.
For more on both YouTube Red and YouTube Music, head on over to the platform’s blog. YouTube Red will launch October 28 in the United States.
