Having already become a strong force within the menswear market, designer Thom Browne is now venturing out into the world of accessories by announcing the launch of a new eyewear collection for men scheduled to launch Fall 2011. Part of a licensing agreement with DITA Eyewear Inc., the ophthalmic and sunglasses collection will be designed and produced for worldwide distribution under the Thom Browne brand and will feature 20 unique styles that draw inspiration from the professors, artists, politicians and architects of the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s. Made from acetate, the glasses will be produced in specifically developed color combinations that will be complimented by genuine leather and metal mesh side cups as well marked with Browne’s signature red, white and blue logo stripe. The collection is expected to be sold at various luxury fashion and optical boutiques worldwide.
