Paying tribute to his political ideology, Japanese brand NEXUSVII find inspiration within the iconic Cuban revolutionary Che Guevara for a new fitted cap, done alongside New Era. The cap takes cues from Guevara’s beret, incorporating a backside star and Cuban flag embroidery along with a brown script underbill. Retailing for ¥8,190 (Approx. $85 USD), the cap is now available via Deepinsideinc.

Speak the truth Sneak. Che is a piece of shit. as a Cuban my skin crawls everytime dick heads say he’s a Revolutionary person. such an inspiration. Like really?? killing priest in the middle of the streets of Cuba is something to look up to? smh fuck this hat. and who ever thinks Che is Cool. Learn something about the shit he did to the “people” he hurt. There’s always someone who wasn’t effected to speak on a situation they didn’t go threw. My family did. Fuck him. and his followers. injustice?? really NYhack.. lol read a book and learn what he really did.

You fools… you think today’s Cuba is what Guevara had in mind? And now you compare him to Hitler… How can you even compare him to Hitler?Somebody needs to read a little more before even giving a political opinion here… It’s very simple, you don’t like what he is doing, give your opinion and move on. No need to crucify the guy for making those caps. i’ll say it again for Mighty, its fashion not politics.

    CHE WAS NOT CUBAN
HE WOULD NOT SUPPORT AN 85 DOLLAR CAP OR THOSE RIDICULOUS SHIRTS WITH HIS IMAGE
“CUBAN” THIS WRITER IS AN IDIOT……

I agree with you Sneek. “the iconic Cuban revolutionary Che Guevara” not Cuban, this guy was Argentinian. Just like the che t-shirts, this is equally as stupid. What’s next a hitler cap? Support communism and murder with this che hat for $85 :/

good, works with political content are powerful

  6. Posted by: MightyChin on June 30, 2009 at 4:57 pm

It’s just fashion, not politics? really? What a completely vapid world view.

  7. Posted by: ca5 on June 30, 2009 at 1:13 pm

agree with tim, and $85 wow, like said che would roll in his grave,
ppl dont see the mass murder that he was, whats next a hitler fitted…smh

The hat is fresh regardless of if your Cuban or not.

Hey nagels, I have an Iranian “fitted cap” wanna wear it? Or maybe we can resurrect other “fashionable” visionaries like Hitler (that mustachio is so hip!).

    agreed tim.

With I.D. and Tim have very valid points.
Even still it’s a cool hat “This is coming from a Cubano”

  13. Posted by: MauRo on June 30, 2009 at 1:03 am

    Yo, couple things:
Hat looks good, fuck that “he would roll over in his grave” thing, it’s not about politics, its fashion.
Too bad the spelling is not right. Real name is Ernesto Guevara de La Serna. (Im Argentine).
U$D 85 is good considering the market the cap sells on. No the price yould sell somewhere else anyways.
If making a nice cap is not paying tribute to what these people like, what is then?
Again: It’s fashion, not politics, just keep it to where you say you like it or not. Thats it

    Peace.

che guevara is a piece of shit. he caused a lot of suffering through unspeakable acts of cruelty to others. the fact that he is celebrated makes me sick. you will never catch any cuban wearing this bullshit on their head. as a matter of fact, if i see it on the street, i will knock it off your head and step on it out of principle. Fuck Che (dat piece o’ chit)

I would suggest Soderbergh’s Che instead of the Motorcycle Diaries… or read Jon Anderson’s A Revolutionary Life. There are a lot of myths about the man, a lot of people have profited on his image.

Running out of ideas… wanna be real, give it out for free…

  17. Posted by: max on June 29, 2009 at 9:25 pm

why is a japanese company making this stupid hat? deal with your own history, let argentina or cuba make a hat like this, and i completely agree with tim. people think che was cool cause hes on tshirts and stuff. ignorance never ceases to amaze me.

  18. Posted by: JOjo on June 29, 2009 at 8:08 pm

This hat is fresh…..if your Cuban.

  19. Posted by: nagels on June 29, 2009 at 7:16 pm

hey tim….shut the fuck up. this is a fashion website not a place for you to rant about bullshit you think other people care about. take it somewhere else man. the hat is fresh

  20. Posted by: ives on June 29, 2009 at 7:04 pm

    that was pretentious.

  21. Posted by: Nic on June 29, 2009 at 6:51 pm

I agree with Tim. I know more about Che than most people having read his diaries as well as other books but why would they put a Cuban flag on there? He was from Argentina, hence the name ‘Che’. I know he helped Fidel and all but that’s not who he was. He stood for revolution and $85 is ridiculous, please go watch Motorcycle Diaries before you buy this hat at least.

  22. Posted by: Dre Fresh aka 4 sTacKs on June 29, 2009 at 6:05 pm

    stupid fresh

  23. Posted by: Tim on June 29, 2009 at 5:55 pm

Yes, just what the world needs, like those awful Che t-shirts that every wanna be, pseudo-intellectual wears weren’t enough, now we have the matching hats to hype a homophobic murderer. $85 dollars for a hat. Nothing says revolution and social change like blatant and unabashed capitalism. The hypocrisy of this piece is laughable. Save your money and buy a book. I know it won’t match your “kicks” but at least you won’t be an uneducated sheep.

  24. Posted by: RealTalk on June 29, 2009 at 4:25 pm

FAIL – The script says Ernesto Guevara del Serna while his real name is Ernesto de La Serna Guevara.

  25. Posted by: NYhack on June 29, 2009 at 3:59 pm

2 brands on an $85 hat based on a COMMUNIST leader’s beret? You are whores that do Che’s memory an injustice by CAPITALIZING on his persona. Paying tribute?? He would roll over in his grave.

  26. Posted by: Georgy on June 29, 2009 at 3:53 pm

    85 dollars = bop

  27. Posted by: With I.D. on June 29, 2009 at 3:52 pm

Even tho he was part of the Cuban Revolution in some way or another…Che Guevara was Argentinian.
