Interview with Nigo at THINK SiLLY

A few months back, Hong Kong played host to one of its greatest fashion meets hip-hop events ever as the Bape Head Live Show 2008 rolled through the small but populous island city. With headlining acts including the Teriyaki Boyz (with Nigo DJing), N.E.R.D. and Kanye West all performing, the night was surely one to remember and really demonstrated the effect Bape has had combining elements of fashion and music together as one. In an interview with the newly launched THINK SiLLY online magazine, Nigo answers a series of questions regarding the event itself. One of the most interesting answers throughout the interview was the notion of bringing Bape Sta! Pro Wrestling to Hong Kong as a follow-up to the successful crowd showings of this 2008 Bape Head Live Show. Other answers relate to the tribute Bape will pay and future plans for European development. The interview can be seen over at THINK-SiLLY.com.

In a magazine: Nigo = Waste of Paper. On a website: Nigo = Waste of Bandwidth. After reading the article/interview in Complex last year I lost what little respect I had for this guy. He has to be one of the most superficial/unsubstantive people in the public eye right now. As for the products that he “designs,” they are nearly always based on limited creativity and the liberal theft of good ideas from other brands and designers.
