Pure and McLaren Reconnect for Fourth Collaboration
Inspired by the 2024 F1 Challenger.
Fresh off the back of its third collaboration earlier this year, Pure Electric has announced another release from its partnership with McLaren. Titled the Pure x McLaren MCL38 Special Edition, the e-ride takes inspiration from the 2024 F1 Challenger.
Founded in 2018 by Adam Norris, Pure Electric has established itself as a mainstay in the e-mobility market through its innovative approach to product design. Pure’s partnership with McLaren has allowed the brand to combine its sleek aesthetics with McLaren’s knowledge of hybrid power. In contrast, the partnership’s family bond — with Pure founder Norris being the father of Formula 1 and McLaren race driver, Lando Norris — creates an intimate feel to the collaboration that plays on combined personal tastes.
With this in mind, the new Pure x McLaren collaboration is a product of the McLaren team’s 2024 challenger, meeting the unrivaled e-scooter, with the end product presenting itself as a combination of the iconic racing team livery with Pure’s award-winning, market-leading e-ride.
Boldly challenging the traditional approach to e-scooters, the new Pure x McLaren collaboration reinvents the e-scooter with rider experience and safety at its core. The unique riding position enables the rider to take a natural, forward-facing stance, with feet apart, delivering a more stable and comfortable ride.
Meanwhile, the fundamentally different riding position spreads your weight evenly on either side of the chassis and lowers your center of gravity – for unrivaled stability, greater control, and advanced safety. The scooter also gently returns the handlebar to the center after turning — this reduces steering wobble while providing pure control at every corner, even over rough ground.
Practicality is also at the core of the scooter’s DNA; it’s designed with foldable handlebars, footpads, and a steering tube to make the MCL38 70% more slimline than standard e-scooters.
