Elon Musk Says SpaceX and X’s Headquarters Are Moving From California to Texas
Musk moved Tesla’s corporate headquarters to Austin in 2021.
Elon Musk has announced he’ll be moving the headquarters of both SpaceX and X. SpaceX will be relocating from Hawthorne, California to Starbase, Texas, while X will move from San Francisco to Austin.
While Tesla runs its engineering arm out of California, the corporate headquarters moved to Austin in 2021. Musk is also a resident of Texas.
On Monday, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a bill into law that forbids schools from requiring teachers to inform parents when a child changes the name or pronouns that they use at school. In a post on X, Musk said it was “the final straw” and accused the law of “attacking both families and companies.”
In February, Musk also moved the corporate office of SpaceX from Delaware to Austin. The move was brought about after a Delaware court ruled that Tesla rescind a $56 billion USD pay package that Musk had received as CEO in 2018.
