Nanzuka and adidas Reveal “Darth Vader” NMD R1
Ahead of Star Wars Day on May 4th.
Nanzuka and adidas are looking to one of the most famous cinematic villains with the reveal of its “Darth Vader” NMD R1 collaboration.
With their new joint effort, the two entities are bringing a dark, yet emerging flair to one of the sportswear brand’s casual lifestyle silhouettes. Ahead of Star Wars Day on May 4th, the collaborative shoe appears in jet black (of course) in its ode to Darth Vader. But what stands out about the sleek knit shoe is its glossy TPU accents that nod to Darth Vader’s helmet.
However, the dark elements don’t just extend to the upper and glossy designs. The entire silhouette appears in the black galaxy hue – including the tongue, rubber midsole, hexagonal rubber sole, shoelaces, rubber heel, heel tab and the core adidas 3 Stripes. Additional details include raised decals on the rubber heel tab and Darth Vader’s “Most Impressive” phrase in red on the back of the midsole heel, while comes from The Empire Strikes Back.
