ERL's FW24 Collection Recalls Pivotel High School Milestones
Capturing senior jocks getting hot and heavy while playing on-field sports.
SoCal designer Eli Russell Linnetz is at one with his generation, often looking to 1990s cool kids to influence his carefree collections. This season observed Venice Beach high schools, dissecting familiar juvenile characters participating in transformative senior moments.
ERL‘s Fall/Winter 2024 collection is packed with dudes having fun. High school jocks lift the collection with baseball bats and hockey sticks, promoting their muscular physiques in cropped California sweatshirts and skin-tight athletic leggings. Popular football team members prepare for kickoff in padded uniforms while runners hit the field in miniature garbs.
Hockey players are hot and sweaty in dirtied, game-ready costumes, decorating their insulating gear with hand-painted skull graphics. ’90s styles reign supreme across retro haircuts, embellished tees, and ultra-baggy denim, seeing the California sunshine illuminate flip-flop-wearing surfers. Faded workwear jackets, flannel shirts, and flared bottoms are shrunken to reveal the skin beneath while theatre students come alive to rehearse medieval plays. ERL dived into its archive to unearth vintage Everlast gear, outfitting wrestlers in zebra-printed padding destined for the ring. Punk rock artists practice their tunes in studded leather motorcycle jackets pinned to perfection, completing FW24 with mismatched prom suits and ruffled gowns that transition to suburban living.
