With the three new Marinemaster references, Seiko is continuing the legacy of its iconic discontinued diver collection. The Marinemaster made its premiere in 2000, arriving in a 44mm helium-proof, monobloc watch case that’s able to withstand up to 300 meters underwater. Revived and reimagined for today’s consumers, the new Marinemaster collection has swapped out some of its signature features and is now sporting a slightly smaller 39.5mm case size.

Drawing inspiration from both its predecessor and the first Japanese diver’s watch from 1965, the new model demonstrates a sporty appeal that honors its source materials. Boasting a case thickness of 12.3mm, the reimagined Marinemaster is also the slimmest of its kind to date. As for power, the watch runs on the modern 6L37 caliber that also comes in slimmer dimensions. The movement is viewable via a transparent exhibition caseback, complete with a 45-hour power reserve.

Priced at £2,990 GBP, the Prospex Marinmarine 1965 Reinterpretation timepieces are offered in three colorways. The silver-dial “High Water” is specially crafted to celebrate Seiko’s upcoming 100th anniversary, and will only be available in a limited run of 1,000 units. Meanwhile, the black-hued “Dark Water”, and the blue “Clearwater” option are introduced as part of Seiko’s core lineup. To find out more about the availability of the watches, head over to Seiko’s official website.

Elsewhere in watches, H. Moser’s Streamliner Small Seconds marks the debut of its new HMC 500 movement.
