Wes Anderson To Curate New Film Club, Galerie

Wes Anderson is co-curating the brand new film club Galerie, launched by the filmmaker’s longtime collaborator Steven Rales, the founder of Indian Paintbrush.
The digital film club will serve as a “guide as you expand and deepen your journey through film alongside a vibrant community where everyone is invited to exchange ideas and expand their knowledge,” and will provide original videos, essays and live events featuring a variety of filmmakers as per NME. “Great cinema is all around us, but in this ever-changing landscape it can be difficult to find when navigating algorithms,” the website further read. “We envisioned Galerie as an oasis inhabited by people who value substance over abundance, where curiosity can thrive and meaningful conversation is given the space to grow.”
Anderson is one of the first co-curators alongside Ethan Hawke and Maggie Gyllenhaal.
In a recent interview, Rales described Galerie as “a unique sanctuary for discovering cinema differently,” adding, “Galerie offers the opportunity to explore the indelible contributions of those more and less visible in the filmmaking endeavour, as well we an avenue to converse and learn about the many attributes of this cherished medium.”
Subscriptions to Galerie cost $10 USD per month.
