LOUTRE's New Collection Rethinks the Connection Between Consumption and the Environment

London-based imprint LOUTRE has just presented an exclusive collection in collaboration with Dover Street Market London, offering a slew of vintage wash prints, oversized silhouettes, and intricate knitwear detailing.

Recently, Dover Street Market has become somewhat of a collaborative expert, hand-picking its capsule drops from the best quality labels in the industry. For example, its collaborative pop-ups with emerging brands like Hillside have proved DSM has its ear to the streets, while its consistent link-ups with Stüssy have continued to show that the brand can work with cultural powerhouses in the fashion space.

Now, DSM’s latest link–up with LOUTRE — which was founded by Pia Schiele — reveals a collection that embodies a DIY approach to fashion within skate. Additionally, the collection includes a slew of upcycling and one-off pieces to ride the board in, with environmentally-friendly materials at the core of each design.

LOUTRE’s latest collection also offers a space to rethink the connection between consumption and the environment by collaborating with makers, thinkers, artisans, and programmers to pioneer new design and industry processes whilst preserving material resources and reviving relevant time-honored practices.

With this in mind, highlights from the new LOUTRE collection come in the form of oversized, carpenter-inspired trousers, designed in a black color scheme and complemented by a melange of stud detailing. Elsewhere, white knitwear is included with raised stitched detailing and outerwear is featured with a selection of technically-focused pockets and zippers.
