A Harvard-educated architect by trade, it was however his interest in A Bathing Ape and his Japanese heritage that brought him to Tokyo where he became immersed in the world of streetwear and street art. Since then, Shigeta has emerged as both a talented photographer and designer, helping apply a finer level of execution and insight through his architectural lens. An integral part of HYPEBEAST’s photographic presence in Los Angeles, here’s A Day With Brandon Shigeta.

I’m originally from Chicago but have lived on the West Coast long enough to call it home. I started taking photographs as a way to remember the feeling of a trip or the subject matter I was interested in. It’s been evolving into an artistic expression of how I see things. I’m an old skateboarder who gets to make his living designing sneakers & shooting photos… it’s a honor and I am grateful for it everyday. Craig Ford has had a considerable impact on the London and British fashion scene. As an important visionary who brought the original BAPE STORE to London, he has also gone on to help develop the British brand presences’ of various respected streetwear brands including BBC | Ice Cream, aNYthing, AMBUSH and Gourmet among others through A Number of Names. Furthermore, he has also been one of the catalysts behind the fledgling London menswear tradeshow known as Jacket Required. Ford recently took us on a buying trip with him to Tokyo which included a run-in with several notable personalities. Follow his day-to-day jaunts over at his HYPEBEAST blog.
Illustrator, designer, and the official bun queen, Sophia Chang, goes under the microscope in this latest A Day With feature. Emerging from Queens, Chang’s eclectic approach to creativity spans multiple mediums ranging from prints, T-shirts and media with some of her work encompassing some familiar entities including Staple Design, Complex Magazine, Baohaus, Undefeated, Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations and Wieden and Kennedy.
