Although a group shot revealed exactly what was in store come the initial shipment of WTAPS x Vans Syndicate releases starting this month, detail shots were sparse. Here’s a look into the upcoming Bash, set to release this June. WTAPS had complete control and direction for this latest Syndicate collection as the Bash fuses late 80s/early 90s hip hop culture with high end and street fashion. The colorways were chosen to represent the era with highlights including a revamped checkerboard pattern. Look for this to hit Tokyo’s Blackflag in Aoyama this weekend.

These Vans Sk8-His are a result of a collaboration between Vans and Niagara, a Detroit based artist and musician. A founding member of the proto-punk band Destroy All Monsters, she has of late risen to notoriety through her artwork. A cynical mix of Lichtenstein style comic strip women & riot girl attitudes, her pieces are highly sought after in the Lowbrow art scene. The Sk8-Hi model juxtaposes a subtle black color scheme with splashes of bright yellow and red mixed in with artwork depicting martini glasses and glass bottles. Sure to be an attention grabbing release, these have already released at DQM.
With the fixed gear scene increasing with more riders day in, day out, quintessential skate brand Vans has stepped in to offer bike riders their own little niche sneaker. On the surface, the 45LX seems very similar to Vans’ current Era/Authentic styles, however minute details along with a saddle bag would speak otherwise to the legion of riders out there. The details include 3M highlights on the laces and marquee heel logo. However, the unassuming details will definitely come across as a genuine effort for the fledging fixed gear market. No word yet on a release date.

Here we’re showing you a sneak peek at the collaboration between Vans and famed Japanese artist, Usugrow. Usugrow has worked on many collabos with other companies including Consolidated Skateboards, The Hundreds, Fifty24sf, and Secret Base. The shoes are mainly black with sophisticated details, featuring Usugrow’s signature style writing. The collection is set for release in 2009.

Vans is putting a new twist on one of their classics, the Era. This new edition of the Eras will come with very subtle, embossed crocodile skin on the sides. It will come in many colorways including blue, green, red, yellow, espresso, and black. These are set to release around June.

Here’s a first look at the highly anticipated and much rumored Crooks & Castles x Vans collaboration shoes. Much inspired by the Gucci colorway, this sneaker is now available for viewing at the Crooks & Castles store in Los Angeles. However, there isn’t any word if these will be releasing but word is that there will also be an alternative colorway that will be released to the public.
This is just a reminder to our readers that the latest Supreme x Vans Half-Cab and Chukka models will go on sale on the Supreme webshop today at 11AM EST. They have been selling quickly at the stores in NY and LA, so be sure to snatch them up quickly before they sell out online.
Before the inception of a legitimate Half-Cab from Vans, there existed the Vans Caballero. However for many, the full high-top vulcanized skate shoe left many unsatisfied with the restrictive cut… off the tops came in a DIY hackjob. This eventually prompted Vans to create the lower-cut version, Half-Cab which has become a popular seller from Vans. However, this fall will see the return of the high-top Caballero starting August 1st. Suggested price is listed at $80 USD.

For this latest installment of the WTAPS x Vans Syndicate series, the Japanese brand has created three distinct styles each reflective of various cultures and time periods. The Rudeez was inspired by vintage dress shoes, the Greaserz looks at 70s blue collar culture and the Bash is inspired by hip-hop culture as well as Spike Lee movies. For releases, it will begin in June with the Bash and end in August with the Rudeez.

At the root of any Vans and Supreme collaboration is the quintessential pairings of two of the skate world’s most iconic brands. Regardless of the affixed Supreme tag to this collaboration effort, no doubt the sheer simplicity on well-liked mid-cut models like the Chukka and Half-Cab will make for yet another hyped up release. The detailing on each model comes in the form of brogue punch trim on a solid suede upper. American Supreme flagship stores will release these on May 22nd while Supreme’s Japanese counterparts will release two days later on the 24th. Online sales will commence (Domestic USA shipping only) on May 23rd.

Last month, a collection of Vans’ upcoming Syndicate collaboration (post was subsequently removed) with WTAPS was revealed. Seen here is the third installment within this ongoing collection, the Rudeez was definitely worth the wait. The encapsulated rubber toecap features a wing-tip pattern with brogue details throughout. Although not the first instance of wing-tip meets sneaker, the extended rubber toecap in this form seems to be a first. Look for a 2008 fall release.

On the horizon from HUF is an upcoming collection of classic SK-8 HIs. The uppers appear to be produced with satin with some nice contrasting colors in the mix. Additional touches include embroidered HUF scripture on the tongue and a reworked Vans logo on the heel. No word yet on availability.
