Jamie Cormack is one half of the founding duo of Canadian luggage and accessories brand Herschel Supply Co., along with his younger brother Lyndon.
The brothers led an active childhood in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Alberta, and Jamie worked for K2 Sports before founding Herschel Supply in 2009 with Lyndon, upon recognizing a gap in the market for stylish yet affordable backpacks. The duo chose to name the brand after the rural village of Herschel, Saskatchewan where their great-grandparents immigrated from Wick, Scotland in 1906, and where the Cormack family lived for three generations until the brothers’ father left for university at the age of 18.
Presently, Jamie heads the company’s design and production side, citing artistic influences such as the utilitarian and heritage-oriented spirit of the town of Herschel, as well as his family history -- for example, the striped pattern lining seen in the brand’s products is inspired by the engineer overalls the Cormacks’ grandfather wore to work. Jamie currently lives in Deep Cove, a suburb of Vancouver, BC.
