Description

Timex is an American watch brand that was originally founded in 1884 as Waterbury Clock Company in Connecticut, USA. It started by producing clocks, and in 1895, created its 'Jumbo' pocket watch and sold six million editions by 1901; costing just $1 USD apiece, the product became known as "the watch that made the dollar famous." In 1930, the brand collaborated with Walt Disney to produce the first Mickey Mouse watch, extremely popular amongst children. Two decades later, Timex became the leading American watch brand, whereby a third of all watches sold in the country were a Timex. Since then, Timex has notably served as the first official timekeeper of the NYC Marathon, whilst continuing to produce a wide range of fashionable and innovative watches for men, women and children.
