Original Fake has teamed up with Porter to release a series of cases and bags from their 2008 Spring/Summer collection. The new items include the Cube Poach, the Square Poach and the 3 Way Brief Case. The Cube and Square Poach utilizes KAWS’ teeth pattern on the zippers while the 3 Way Brief Case features a subtle KAWS’ cross pattern all over the bag. Available now at Honeyee Store.
Inspired by 90s outdoor-inspired materials seen on backpacks, the Porter Vital collection is yet another release which implements the use of interesting materials from the heralded Japanese accessories maker. Over the years we’ve seen Porter create a series of collections with interesting material choices including leather with APC and denim with Levi’s (albeit with Head Porter). For those familiar with French brand APC, the brand has sought a mission statement that focuses on the creation of apparel and fashion with simple and timeless aesthetics. With that in mind, this theme which has made the brand immensely popular sees itself in a collection with Japanese brand Porter. For Japanese stylist Ryoji Honma, the creation of his brand 2-tacs was on the basis that his brand concept would embody two tactics. The re-use of old vintage styles coupled with a stylistic re-reinterpretation can be seen over many of 2-tacs products. Teaming up with Porter, the two have produced items including a messenger bag and denim. An interesting concept on the denim is the inclusion of built-in denim pouch. Available now via allbeams.com.
Continuing with their various collaborations, Wacko Maria teamed up with Porter to come up with some bags including a messenger bag, a tote bag, and a limited edition zip wallet. The messenger and tote bags come in similar style prints that have a very strong Jamaican flavor with palm trees, ocean, guitar, and different flowers. The zip wallet comes in two styles, one with cow print and the other with leopard print. Available now at Beams.
The B-Jirushi Yoshida partnership featuring Beams and Porter has revealed a new series of wallets as part of their Exotic Leather collection. the wallets incorporate rare materials to offer a well designed luxurious wallet. The two newest styles feature diamond python skin and Kanae crocodile skin. For Hideout’s 10th anniversary, they teamed up with Porter to create a messenger bag. Inspired by the traditional bags carried by newspaper boys, this bag has a very modern look with Hideout’s motto written on top, “My Karma Drives Over my Dogma.” It comes in black with beige writing and ivory with black writing.
