Netflix has officially announced its upcoming investigative release, Instadocs: Jane Doe v. Cornell. The quick-turn documentary examines the institutional fallout of a high-profile campus sexual assault lawsuit and scrutinizes university Title IX systems.
The documentary centers on the legal action brought by Jane Doe, a former Cornell University student who alleges she was drugged and raped at the school’s Chi Phi fraternity house in October 2024. As the incident sparked widespread campus protests and intensified national scrutiny surrounding collegiate accountability, the film investigates whether institutional reporting mechanisms, specifically campus police and Title IX offices, deliver on their intended promise of protection and due process.
Produced by Words + Pictures with Steve Yaccino serving as showrunner, the installment features interviews with New York Governor Kathy Hochul, Jane Doe’s attorney Thomas Giuffra, and former Brown University Title IX coordinator Amanda Walsh. The narrative also incorporates firsthand insights from The Cornell Daily Sun editor-in-chief Sophia Dasser, senior editor Cereese Qusba, a former fraternity president, and a recent alumna who navigated the school’s Title IX procedures.
Instadocs: Jane Doe v. Cornell, the fifth installment in the streamer’s ongoing series, premieres on Netflix on October 29, 2026.
