Jeep officially pulled the cover off the 2027 Jeep Wrangler Switchback, serving as the twelfth and final model in its yearlong special edition rollout. Closing out the brand’s ambitious “Twelve 4 Twelve” campaign, which dropped one unique Wrangler iteration every month for an entire year, the Wrangler Switchback arrives with a heavy nod to custom off-road culture. The factory-produced contrasting colorway emulates a raw, aggressive look seen on owner-modified Wranglers. By leaning into an aesthetic where mismatched body panels are historically added to achieve a custom multicolored look or replace pieces damaged during off-roading, Jeep transforms a garage-repair necessity into a factory-backed statement piece.
To achieve these contrasting color schemes on the factory floor, Jeep altered its standard manufacturing rhythm. The brand sequenced Gloss Black and Sting-Gray Wranglers to run sequentially down the assembly line. Line workers manually swapped the doors of consecutively sequenced vehicles during the production cycle. Factory workers later switched the hoods during the final upfitting process. This manufacturing sequence results in two distinct mismatched exterior configurations. One configuration features gray bodywork, contrasting black doors and a matching black hood. The second option flips that color scheme, producing Wranglers with black bodywork, contrasting gray doors and a gray hood.
Beyond the panel swaps, the Wrangler Switchback features vibrant Gecko accents across its exterior. Bright hits of color appear on the front grille, exterior wheel rings, bold hood graphic and rear swing-gate decal. That attention to detail extends into the cabin, where the interior features premium nappa leather with contrasting Sea Salt accents. Custom Lime stitching runs throughout the interior alongside Switchback-exclusive graphics.
Structurally, the Wrangler Switchback is based on the high-end Wrangler Rubicon X trim, ensuring the rugged visual aesthetic is backed by heavy-duty trail capability. Enthusiasts can order the limited special edition in classic two-door or expanded four-door configurations. Adding the Switchback package increases the sticker price of a standard Rubicon X by $2,870 USD. The two-door model is priced at $66,695 USD, while the four-door model brings the total to $69,995 USD. Orders officially open in November.
