CMF by Nothing is expanding into portable audio for the first time with the Speaker S and Speaker M, a two-model lineup that carries the brand’s geometric, modular design language into a new category.
The pair establishes the foundation of its audio range with two scales of the same visual idea: Speaker S is a compact, upright model designed to slip into a bag or clip onto a strap or carabiner, while Speaker M enlarges the format into a more substantial desktop or room speaker with an integrated handle. Both are offered in White, Dark Grey, Orange and Turquoise, with CMF’s characteristically playful use of color amplified by swappable front panels and control knobs. Standardized 3D-printable component designs also let users create their own replacements or visual variations, extending the customization approach seen across CMF’s broader product philosophy.
The two speakers are differentiated less by styling than by scale and output. Speaker S uses a single 45 mm full-range driver with dual passive radiators for a lighter, more portable setup, while Speaker M steps up to a dual-driver architecture with a dedicated woofer and tweeter for greater separation, deeper bass and a fuller room-filling sound. Both incorporate Adaptive Tuning, which continuously adjusts playback and EQ at the hardware level, alongside Ultra Bass, Wide Soundstage and four selectable EQ presets through the Nothing X app. For multi-speaker setups, two matching units can be paired into true left-and-right Stereo Mode, while Auracast-powered Party Mode can synchronize playback across multiple compatible speakers, including supported models from other brands.
Despite the more expressive styling, CMF has kept the interaction deliberately straightforward. A tactile knob handles playback, track navigation, volume and Ultra Bass, while dedicated controls cover power, Bluetooth pairing and Auracast. Connectivity includes Bluetooth 6.0, NFC tap-to-pair, Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair and USB-C audio, while both models carry an IP68 rating and offer up to 18 hours of playback at 50% volume with Ultra Bass enabled. The CMF Speaker S is priced at $59 USD, while the larger Speaker M retails for $109 USD. Both models launch on October 12, 2026 through Nothing’s website and select retail partners.
