Blumhouse has officially unveiled the first trailer for The Exorcist: Martyrs, written and directed by horror auteur Mike Flanagan. The upcoming feature stars Scarlett Johansson as Detective Julie Miller in a terrifying homicide case linked to demonic possession.
Based on characters created by The Exorcist author William Peter Blatty, the story follows Detective Miller 13 years after ending the killing spree of satanic Father Sunday (John Leguizamo). Dragged back into the darkness when her name is written in blood on a church crypt wall, Miller teams up with former prison chaplain Father William (Chiwetel Ejiofor) and rookie Detective Gina Restrepo (Sasha Calle) to investigate a new string of ritualistic murders.
As the investigation unfolds, the trio uncovers an ancient demonic entity that has secretly connected infamous serial killers throughout history, including H.H. Holmes, the Night Stalker, and the Zodiac. The star-studded ensemble cast also features Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Scoot McNairy, Jacobi Jupe, and Gil Bellows.
The Exorcist: Martyrs premieres in theaters on March 12, 2027.
