Barbour and Levi’s Japan Rebuild Vintage 501s Into One-Off "Re-Loved" Upcycled Jeans

Levi’s Japan and Barbour have partnered on the “Re-Loved” capsule collection, a project that translates both labels’ shared belief in repairing and extending the life of clothing into a small, materials-driven lineup. The collaboration takes Barbour’s existing upcycling framework and folds Levi’s own heritage denim into it, producing garments assembled entirely from reclaimed fabric.
Re-Loved began as a Barbour program built around the wax jacket. Under it, customers’ unwanted jackets are collected and, where needed, cleaned, mended and re-waxed before going back into circulation, a process meant to prolong a garment’s life and return value to it rather than discard it. This capsule pushes that idea a step further by introducing vintage Levi’s denim and duck fabric into the mix, layering the two houses’ signature materials together so each brand’s material story informs the other.
The result at the center of the collection is the Levi’s x Barbour Re-Loved 501. It starts from a vintage 501 base and reconstructs it using Barbour’s wax cotton, tartan and wide-wale corduroy, splicing the two brands’ textiles into a single hybrid pair. Because every piece is built one at a time from collected and reused material, no two are identical. Each carries its own accumulated history of wear, repair and regeneration, making the jeans functionally one-of-one rather than a stocked, repeatable style.
Alongside the denim, the capsule adds a set of collaborative pins that reference archive designs from both Levi’s and Barbour, giving the release a lower-commitment collectible to sit next to its centerpiece.
The Levi’s x Barbour Re-Loved capsule releases September 11. The Re-Loved 501 will be available exclusively at the Levi’s Harajuku Flagship Store, where the launch runs through a lottery entry system rather than first-come order, with registration on the morning of the 11th ahead of the draw. The pins will be sold more widely, at the Harajuku Flagship along with the Shinjuku, Osaka, Nagoya Zero Gate and Kyoto locations.
