PUMA and its Creative Director, A$AP ROCKY, have officially unveiled the brand-new Straycat sneaker, a striking silhouette inspired by a trail icon from the brand’s archive. Handpicked by Rocky himself, the design takes cues from the 2005 Ouninpohja Explorador II, pushing performance-inspired design into bold new territory by blending trail grit with motorsport heritage.
The sneaker immediately captures attention with its complex upper, highlighted by a dark black and grey base, hand-distressed materials, and vibrant contrasting hits of red and orange around the collar. A metallic silver PUMA Formstrip adorns the sidewall, while a unique lime green double lacing configuration adds a distinct layer of visual intrigue to the rugged upper. Grounding the aggressive design is a chunky, wrap-up sole equipped with a Vibram-enhanced rubber compound and tire-inspired traction. This marks Vibram’s first true co-branded outsole, which features a custom PUMA cat logo thoughtfully placed near the toe.
