Featuring digital allover prints and textured finishes inspired by Jamal Cyrus’ art.
Summary
- Stone Island continued its Frieze partnership at the Los Angeles 2026 edition, collaborating with artist Jamal Cyrus on the fair’s uniform T-shirt
- A limited-edition garment-dyed T-shirt with digital and textured prints was released at Frieze and Stone Island’s LA flagship
Stone Island has returned to Frieze Los Angeles 2026, marking the latest chapter in its global partnership with the art fair. This year, the collaboration moves beyond the traditional staff uniform to introduce a limited-edition collectible T-shirt for the first time. The project centers on the work of American interdisciplinary artist Jamal Cyrus, whose research-driven practice explores the intersections of history, music and Black political thought. By aligning with Cyrus, Stone Island reinforces its “research-led ethos,” bridging the gap between high-performance textile engineering and conceptual contemporary art.
The garment-dyed T-shirt serves as a canvas for Cyrus’s intricate aesthetic, with a sophisticated digital allover print overlaid with a raised, textured print, creating a tactile experience that mirrors the artist’s focus on material residues and archives. While the standard edition will be worn by Frieze personnel throughout the fair, the limited-edition version is designed as a physical translation of Cyrus’s collage and assemblage techniques, offering a structural, layered look that resonates with Stone Island’s signature experimental style.
The T-shirt was made available in limited quantities at the Frieze art fair at Santa Monica Airport and the Stone Island La Brea Avenue Flagship in LA. Take a closer look at the limited-edition tee in the gallery above.
