Stern Pinball has officially entered the Kanto region. In a massive collaboration with The Pokémon Company International, the world’s largest pinball manufacturer has revealed “Pokémon,” a dynamic new machine that brings the monster-catching franchise to the silverball arena for the first time. Powered by Stern’s advanced SPIKE 3 technology, the table invites players to train, battle rivals, and thwart Team Rocket, with hardware ranging from a standard $6,999 USD Pro model to a $12,999 USD Limited Edition.
The gameplay is designed to mirror the journey of a Pokémon Trainer. Players navigate through four distinct habitats to discover and catch various Pokémon using an illuminated, mechanically animated Poké Ball on the playfield. The experience is guided by an animatronic Pikachu that physically reacts to gameplay, cheering players on as they complete objectives. Authentic touches include video clips from the original animated series, the iconic “Pokémon Theme” song, and custom voiceovers for Pikachu and Team Rocket leader Giovanni.
The physical table is packed with interactive toys and hazards. A “Meowth Balloon” swoops down into the arena to challenge players, while the Premium and Limited Edition (LE) models feature an exclusive electromagnet that adds chaotic unpredictability to battles. These higher-tier versions also include the “Expression Lighting System” and specific art packages that differentiate them from the Pro model.
For the first time, the “Gotta Catch ‘Em All” loop extends beyond the machine. Using Stern’s Insider Connected system, any Pokémon caught during a game are added to a player’s digital collection, which can be viewed and tracked via the companion app. The Pokémon pinball machine is available now through authorized Stern Pinball distributors in Pro, Premium and Limited Edition version. The Limited Edition model is restricted to just 750 units globally, featuring exclusive foil-effect cabinet decals, a mirrored backglass, and a sequentiated plaque.
