Gerald Charles has unveiled the Maestro 2.0 Meteorite, the Maison’s first meteorite timepiece to feature a small‑seconds indicator, marking a new chapter in the Maestro story.
Inspired by the creative spirit of founder Gerald Genta, the watch transforms cosmic history into wearable art, using meteorite as both material and narrative canvas. Two executions bring this vision to life: the Black model, symbolizing the instant of impact with a dark meteorite dial, red anodized baseplate and fiery gradient seconds indicator at 6 o’clock, housed in a Darkblast steel case; and the Silver model, representing stillness after the explosion, with a silver meteorite dial, gold accents, and polished steel case.
The meteorite originates from the Muonionalusta meteorite, estimated to be over 4.5 billion years old, making it one of the rarest materials available on Earth. The design, led by Creative Director Octavio Garcia, uses the iconic Maestro case architecture as a stage to narrate the split-second impact of a meteorite colliding with Earth. The dial’s Roman numerals and indexes appear physically displaced by the force of this “blast,” while radial apertures expose an aluminum baseplate beneath—red for the Black model and silver for the Silver model — to evoke the resulting shockwaves.
Powering the heart of the new timepieces is the Caliber GCA2011, an automatic movement with a 50-hour power reserve that is 5G shock resistant. Both versions utilize a sculptural, star-shaped running seconds indicator at 6 o’clock and are paired with either a Velcro or natural rubber strap featuring a Grade 5 Titanium buckle.
The two Maestro 2.0 Meteorite watches are each limited to just 100 individually numbered examples, now available for inquiry through the brand’s official website.
