Jacob & Co. continues to push the boundaries of high watchmaking with the debut of the God of Time, a masterpiece that introduces the fastest tourbillon ever created. Designed to honor the 60th birthday of founder Jacob Arabo, this limited edition of 60 pieces elevates horology to a mythical status.
At the heart of the timepiece is the hand-wound caliber JCAM60, which features a tourbillon that completes a full rotation every four seconds. This is 15 times faster than standard versions, achieved through a lightweight 0.27-gram titanium carriage and a specialized constant force system.
The aesthetic draws deeply from Greek antiquity, featuring a 44.5 mm rose gold case sculpted like a temple pillar. A hand-engraved 18K rose gold sculpture of Chronos, the Greek god of time, rests upon a blue aventurine dial that mimics a starry night. This “Herculean” achievement provides a 60-hour power reserve, ensuring that performance matches its artistic magnitude. On the caseback, Arabo’s personal signature and portrait serve as a final seal of excellence for this record-breaking creation.
