G-SHOCK’s latest release, the MTGB4000, marks a pivotal evolution in the brand’s premium MT-G series. Available in two iterations – the MTGB4000-1A and MTGB4000B1A2 – these models are the first G-SHOCK timepieces developed through a design process that fuses human creativity with generative AI technology. Initial sketches crafted by designers were optimized by AI to improve structural performance while maintaining the bold, robust aesthetics that define the MT-G line.
These resulting timepieces feature a bold new frame structure that significantly enhances shock resistance while preserving the line’s signature rugged elegance. They incorporate an evolved Dual Core Guard system with integrated band connections, allowing the frame to effectively absorb external impact and reduce stress on the inner case.
Meticulously crafted from laminated carbon and glass fiber sheets, the MTGB4000’s frame showcases a dimensional silhouette with visible layering along its sides. Precision metal finishes elevate the bezel’s visual depth, with Sallaz polishing, hairline textures, and mirror detailing creating striking contrasts. The MTGB4000B1A2 is further distinguished by a futuristic blue-gray ion-plated (IP) coating. The caseback, shaped through metal injection molding (MIM), adds structural integrity and intricate form, complemented by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and a multi-dimensional dial.
Functionality remains a cornerstone of the MTGB4000 series. The new models are equipped with features such as Triple G Resist, Tough Solar power, Smartphone Link and Multi-Band 6 radio control. Additional features include world time across 27 cities, stopwatch, countdown timer, alarm, as well as Super Illuminator LED light to ensure the watches’ practicality. Retailing at $1,250 USD and $1,350 USD, respectively, both models are available via G-SHOCK as well as select retailers.
