Nike & atmos Collaborate on Multi-Colored Air Force 1 and Air Barrage Mid
The exclusive “POP THE STREET” capsule also includes apparel.
Nike and Japanese retailer atmos have added yet another project to their long portfolio of collaborations. This time around, the pair have created an expansive capsule that includes brightly colored iterations of the Air Force 1 and Air Barrage Mid, alongside a series of apparel — the “POP THE STREET” capsule.
The main inspiration behind the lineup was Japanese pop culture, drawing from a series of reference points like contemporary art and manga. The result is an assemblage of bright, loud colors juxtaposed to reflect the diverse fashion scene in Tokyo. Stealing the spotlight in the range is the Air Force 1, which has been given a vibrant multi-colored twist. Fluorescent volt highlights cover the heel, followed by orange and blue panels on the rear quarters; red and teal, the sidewalls, finished off by pink and violet along the toe box. “Nike Air Force 1” branding is placed over the tongue, while the black suede eyelet panels offset the colorful design.
The next piece is the Air Barrage Mid, in the same colors as the aforementioned silhouette. This time, the sneaker is dominated by a large front velcro panel that’s colored in teal. Purple, orange and blue highlights cover the forefoot of the piece, contrasted by black Swooshes around the sidewalls, front strap and toe box. As a final note to the piece, “AIR” branding is lettered across the chunky midsole, filling in the ridges of its raised laterals. Other pieces in the range, like the logo-heavy hoodies and tees, round up the bold capsule.
The Nike “POP THE STREET” capsule will be available on Nov 9 at atmos-tokyo.com, from $41 – $138 USD.
Elsewhere, Vans will be hosting an eBay charity auction for its annual checkerboard day.
