Contemporary Utility Shines Throughout PRIX's FW19 Menswear Collection

Standout tonal looks.

Returning for Fall/Winter 2019, fledgling label PRIX has put together a new menswear collection dominated by an expression of contemporary utility.

Aside from being a reflection of designer Esther Ng‘s experiences at YEEZY and personal interests, the latest range serves as an honest ode to her childhood. Much of the tonal outerwear, bottoms and accessories are inspired by her early tomboy style, love of video games and military styling.

Most apparent are inspirations from Swiss army uniforming and references to M-51 jackets worn during the Vietnam War. Elsewhere, the printed Grand Theft Auto San Andreas CJ top and leggings are inspired by the Jean-Paul Gaultier pieces worn by Esther’s mother when she was growing up. Finally, accessories like face covers, crossbody bags and duffels build on the contemporary utility theme that runs throughout the collection.
