Santa Cruz & PUMA's Suede 50 Collab Celebrates a Rich Cultural History
The iconic shoe receives a skate-inspired makeover.
Following the recent introduction of the RS-0 “Game Restart,” PUMA has decided to team up with cultural force and legendary brand Santa Cruz Skateboards to celebrate the 50-year anniversary of the iconic PUMA Suede.
Coming together for a special new spin on the Suede, Santa Cruz and PUMA have served up a new black, red and blue version of the popular sneaker. Notably, the shoe features Santa Cruz’s signature “Screaming Hand” graphic motif — which was inspired by the many ways individuals choose to express themselves creatively — on the back, while a red Formstrip conveys the concepts of “red sound and adrenaline.” To bring this latest Suede to life, the collaboration’s designers opted for a rich black suede for the upper, giving all the aforementioned details a lush backdrop.
You can take a look at the new Santa Cruz Skateboards and PUMA Suede 50 above, while the shoe itself will hit retailers — such as PUMA’s official website — on July 26.
