Nike and SKIMS have officially unveiled the NikeSKIMS Shanghai HKRI Taikoo Hui Pop-Up, marking the joint venture’s first physical destination in China. SKIMS Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer Kim Kardashian hosted an early preview of the space attended by Hypebeast on September 28 ahead of its official public opening.
The retail space showcases the complete NikeSKIMS Fall Edit 01 collection, spanning apparel, footwear, and accessories. Designed to reflect the brand’s aesthetic language, the physical layout integrates custom product displays, fitting rooms, and dedicated lounge areas where visitors can experience product fit and try-ons firsthand.
The opening event brought together high-profile figures including Kris Jenner, Khloé Kardashian, swimmer Stephanie Au, basketball player Li Meng, track athlete Liu Yinglan, actresses Vanda Li and Zhuang Dafei, singers Jike Junyi and Lexie Liu, and supermodel Zhao Jiali. In addition to the full product catalog, the Shanghai location will provide localized consumer services, including on-site tailoring for select pieces, as well as future community activities and product experiences. At the pop-up, Kim Kardashian spoke to Hypebeast in an exclusive conversation about the importance of the Chinese market as the next chapter for NikeSKIMS. Kardashian also gave Hypebeast additional insight on what it was like to design the shoe, having always had affinity for the Nike Air Max 95s and 97s, she always knew that designing a sneaker would be a must when she partnered with the Swoosh. Choosing the Rift as her debut sneaker with the brand was largely due to its silhouette-huggin footwear, complementing the ethos of SKIMS.
