The company launched the Kuchofuku Air-Conditioned Short Sleeve Work Shirt to keep corporate employees cool. This garment takes the classic button-up silhouette and outfits it with an active cooling system. While fan-equipped vests have long been a staple for Japanese construction and field workers, this release marks a deliberate shift toward integrating the technology into white-collar business attire. The design disguises a blue-collar utility uniform as a formal business shirt.
The menswear retailer developed the product in collaboration with FZN, a manufacturer specializing in fan-equipped fashion. Engineers designed the shirt to maintain an understated professional look from the front. The integration of technology does alter the garment’s profile slightly. Two active cooling fans are visible from the back and create a minor bulge at the sides. Designers specifically placed the 95-gram fans at the side positions rather than the direct rear to ensure the wearer can sit comfortably. The fans push cool air directly inward to circulate throughout the clothing and evaporate sweat before it ruins the wearer’s formal appearance.
Users can cycle through three distinct airflow intensity settings to manage their comfort levels. The highest setting pushes approximately 53 liters of air per second and lasts for roughly 3.5 hours on a single charge. The medium mode offers five hours of relief. The lowest operational setting conserves battery life to stretch continuous cooling up to 10 hours. Power comes from a removable 165-gram rechargeable battery pack. Wearers must be mindful of the added weight distribution, as the internal hardware feels similar to carrying a heavy smartphone in a pocket.
The complete entry set includes the 100 percent polyester shirt, the twin fan units, connecting cables and the power bank.
