Literary Sport, the Canadian label that has quietly become the new standard-bearer of chic activewear among fashion’s inner circle, is now making a case for barefoot sandals.

For its latest collaboration, the brand has teamed up with Xero Shoes to reinterpret the Genesis, the footwear company’s original sandal first introduced in 2009 and inspired by the huarache-style sandals worn by Mexico’s Tarahumara runners. The silhouette has remained largely unchanged for more than a decade, defined by its thin sole and minimalist lace construction.

Rather than reinventing the formula, Literary Sport focuses on the sandal’s most distinctive feature: its lacing system. Swapping the original paracord for navy leather cording finished with a polished silver bead, the collaboration subtly elevates the Genesis without compromising its minimalist ethos. Each pair is also packaged in a custom mesh drawstring bag complete with dedicated shoe compartments and an interior pouch.
