Following the finale of Witch Hat Atelier‘s highly praised first season, the anime is now confirmed for a second season. Global anime platform Crunchyroll has also announced that it has acquired streaming rights to the series for Season 2.
Based on Kamome Shirahama’s ongoing, award-winning manga, which has surpassed seven million copies in circulation worldwide and earned prestigious international accolades, the anime adaptation is set to return with studio BUG FILMS handling production duties once more. The upcoming season will pick up immediately after the narrative peak of the first installment, focusing on the aftermath of the sinister Brimmed Caps’ attack on the young apprentices inside the Serpentback Cave. Crunchyroll will stream the new episodes exclusively to audiences worldwide, with the exception of Asia.
The fantasy series centers on Coco, a bright-eyed young girl who secretly dreams of casting spells in a beautifully rendered world where magical abilities are a closely guarded secret reserved only for those born with the gift. After a tragic accident involving forbidden magic alters her life, she is taken in by the elegant witch Qifrey, who guides her through the intricate art of magic to help right her past wrongs.
