Summary

  • Sony’s $199.99 USD FlexStrike fight stick launches globally on August 6 featuring a built-in battery and a sling carry case
  • A new $349.99 USD PlayStation-branded gaming monitor arrives August 27 with a 1440p IPS display and a built-in hook for charging DualSense controllers
  • Sony confirmed the Pulse Elevate wireless speakers will release later in 2026 to complete the new desktop-focused hardware lineup

Sony announced official release dates and pricing for an expansive new wave of gaming accessories. The hardware lineup targets players actively shifting away from traditional living room television setups and focuses heavily on high-end competitive performance. Upgraded audio systems and specialized input devices highlight a clear strategy to capture the dedicated desktop gaming market. Pre-orders for the initial wave of hardware begin in early June through direct PlayStation channels and select participating retailers.

The highly anticipated FlexStrike fight stick launches globally on August 6. The premium peripheral costs $199.99 USD and features ultra-low latency wireless connectivity alongside standard wired play options. Sony designed the controller specifically for tournament portability by incorporating a built-in rechargeable battery and a custom sling carry case. This launch schedule coincides perfectly with the release of the PlayStation-published 4v4 tag-team brawler Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls. The game features an anime-inspired art style developed in collaboration with Arc System Works. While the fight stick natively supports the PlayStation 5 console, full PC compatibility will roll out gradually following the initial release window.

Desktop enthusiasts gain a dedicated visual powerhouse with the new 27-inch PlayStation-branded gaming monitor. The display arrives August 27 in the United States and Japan for $349.99 USD and utilizes a crisp QHD IPS panel reaching a 2560×1440 resolution. The screen supports Variable Refresh Rate technology and reliably hits 120Hz on PlayStation 5 hardware. PC and Mac users can push the refresh rate all the way up to 240Hz for maximum fluidity during intense competitive matches. A unique built-in charging hook provides a convenient resting spot for DualSense controllers right on the monitor stand.

Sony plans to round out this ambitious desktop ecosystem with the Pulse Elevate wireless speakers later this year. The audio system integrates the exact same planar magnetic driver innovations featured in the recent Pulse Explore and Pulse Elite headsets. These specialized speakers aim to deliver high-fidelity immersive sound without requiring players to wear a headset during marathon gaming sessions. The brand expects to share official pricing and specific pre-order details for the audio hardware in the coming months.
