Bypassing the traditional, brightly colored fast-food aesthetics, the upcoming McDonald’s x Nike Book 2 “Sedona” instead pays homage to one of the most famous and architecturally restricted restaurant locations in the world.

If you aren’t familiar with Sedona, Arizona, the city enforces strict zoning laws to preserve the natural beauty of its iconic red rock landscape. When McDonald’s built a location there, the city required them to abandon their world-famous yellow “Golden Arches” in favor of a muted turquoise blue. This specific, real-world detail serves as the entire foundation for Booker’s new sneaker.
